Each week I think of putting up some art work on IF, but just don't end up doing it. Today I forced myself to put something up while my daughter slept for more then 3 hours. This was my chance. I usually end up sleeping with her, and sure enough I did sleep today too. But since she slept a little longer then usual I got a chance to quickly sketch this on my tablet. It took me 10-15 minutes to do it, so it is done super duper fast.

Anyway, I recently saw a Japanese lady wear a kimono costume in a super market. She looked so elegant. She inspired me to do this drawing. So here is a drawing of a little Japanese child wearing a kimono with those flip flops. I can't wait to put on some flip flops when the weather gets warmer.

Today is Tuesday, boy am I early to publish this or what? Anyway, This is Melanie's chair from PBS Sprout channel on TV. This is what I see all the time with my 2 year old when the TV is on. She is hooked on to the sprout channel and loves Melanie and cartoons like Caillou, Noddy, Barney etc, etc.

I love Melanie’s huge chair, she looks so little in that chair...

I grew up in India, and now live (recently moved) in NJ. I am not at all looking forward to winter. I hate to dress up in layers and hate the feeling of living in a freezer. I can't wait for Spring !

I came across illustration friday only a few days ago. I am finally getting the hang of putting the images. Phew !

Anyway, About my painting...I did this in pastels. It reminds me of the deep sea. The colors look a lot better on paper then on screen. I was itching to post this since it took me a day to figure out how to get the whole thing published.
